My camp experienced!

Bonjour fellow bloggers,
I am here with you to share my experience last week. Last week the Yr 5's and 6's went on a school trip to Mt Ruapehu. As you can see at the bottom I have a slideshow about what we did on camp and saw while we were there. At Mt Ruapehu there was snow I thought it would feel soft but instead it felt like ice. It was my first time touching snow and actually trying out new things. By the way we had choices on what to do for the day at the snow. The options were Skiing or Snowboarding. On the forms that the teachers gave us it said that Skiing is basically easier than Snowboarding. My option was Skiing (because it was easier) and most people chose Skiing than Snowboarding. I took photo's from my red camera that I brang along of our bus trip but not of the snow because I needed to change my batteries but I didn't take extra batteries, my camera doesn't need a charger it need's batteries to charge it up.  It took us lot's of hours (8 or 9 hours) to get to the hotel that we were staying in because we had lot's of stops and walks to refresh our minds before going to our next stop.
Feel free to read through my slideshow!

We had a great time on the fiirst day but we didn't get to Ski or Snowboard because we got to the hotel at 7 or 8pm. Before we arrived at the hotel in the afternoon we went to Hamilton Gardens to have a little Competition and challenge between 7 coloured teams. We all stopped for a morning tea break before heading inside Hamilton Gardens. Ms Sands walked the people that needed to go toilet to the toilet. Then we were on a roll and started to wait for the people near a water fountain. Here is a photo of it. Mr Riceman & Ms Sands handed us 2 pieces of paper to each team, and with the pieces of paper were pencil's. What we had to do was to find clues of the gardens that are on the piece of paper and name what the clue is in which garden. It was annoying and tiring because we pasted some of the clues and we had to go all the way around to find it again.

Here are lot's of AWESOME! photo's that you guys can have look at.

This is our Orange group taking a photo before we race to find the clues of the gardens.

Here is a photo of us finally finishing our papers!

I enjoyed camp a lot. I learnt to stop with Ski's you either do a pie shape by turning you foot facing the other foot so it looks like a triangle, or you can turn to the side and facing left or right. I crashed ontop of people while Skiing down the mountain because I kept on going fast. We had Skiing and Snowboarding lessons because we were only beginners and started for one day. The place that we were Skiing was called Happy valley ( Should actually be called crowded valley because there was so much people). Some people were skiing up higher which was called Rock mountain some of my friends went but I wasn't allowed to because I had my lesson on. My friend said that there was a waterfall which was little bit big. There were so much people because there were more then 10 schools, families and people that are having a vacation. If you are also going to camp please tell me when you post a comment below and I will comment back.
Feel free to ask me questions. If you want to see more of my work please keep visiting more often and see more FANTASTIC! work.

Play time!!!!!

Kia ora bloggers,
I am here sharing with a piece art and work. Today in Maths we had been using our chromebooks to go onto tinkercad. If you don't know what tinkercad is, it's a 3d modeling place on where you build and make stuff. We had to make a Juniour playground because at our school the Juniour playground had been taken down for many accidents that have happened. So Mr Riceman thought that we could make with our own imagination a playground that would be safe and stable for the Juniours. Below is a quick screencastify of me describing the parts of my playground.
Feel free to watch!
I think it was easy to make the playground because I have used tinkercad before and I like using different shapes and making them into different sizes. The thing I didn't like was using a square that had bottom, top, left and right. We had to use it to turn your work around to see if it's on a right angle or in the right place. I think during all these math sessions we are mostly thinking of different ways on how to make things like we did with the tent making. That's my goal for Key competency which is thinking and I wrote that down in my goals slideshow. If you are reading this work please post a positive & thoughtful comment.

Geometry shapes

Aloha bloggers from around the world,
I am here sharing with you an FANTASTIC! piece of art that we have been doing this week. In maths we have been building models which were tents. We had to think of different ways on how to build the roof and side of the of the tent. We all worked independently in seperate classrooms so that we could finish the art before lunch. Te Waka Ako all  had 3 materials to make a tent, the materials were toothpicks, plasta clay and a white board to put the model ontop. This picture of my tent was my second model because the first model fell apart because the clay is heavier than the toothpicks so it collapsed. Instead of using the first model I thought of another way to make the tent so I came up with an Idea like this when I did the finishing touches it didn't fall.
At first I didn't think that building a tent was part of maths. My first tent that I made was a shape of a rectangle square shape. Mr Ross thought that it would still stand while I play outside for morning tea but, instead when I came back from morning tea and it had collapsed. It have learnt that if I use small bits of clay it wouldn't fall apart but for my first model I put big bits of clay which didn't work. The teachers didn't really explain but it was a making the tent. Sorry if you want to read more but I have finished now. If you want to see more of my work come and visit to see more and post  a positive and thougthful comment below.

I know what we can play ..... GUESS WHO?

Talofa lava & Kia ora,

Guess who this pretty looking girl is. Yes you guessed it, it's !ME!. In our cybersmart lesson we have been working with our funny and lovely cybersmart teacher Gerod. This term I have been introduced to a site called 'Be Funky', there are so many cool things that you can do on 'Be Funky'. One of my favourite things to do on this site is taking a photo of my face (as you can see below) and changed some facial parts, for example I was able to shrink my eyes and change my hair colour. Even with the changes you can still recognise me. Another site that I went on is called thinglink where you can screenshot a photo of yourself, post it on thinglink and describe about yourself. I have put up two videos that is important to me especially the Samoan video because that's my nationality. This is a cool way of connecting with other Samoans in New Zealand and around the world.

For more ideas on how to make yourself look different, I suggest you could click on both youtube  links that are below.
                                      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNoo-ivduNw

                                     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omBfg3UwkYM

I have learnt that you could change yourself in many different ways. If you are really interested in doing this, just type in Be funky and challenge yourself. If you are reading this piece of work right now please leave a comment bellow fo me to recieve and aslo read.

Let's compare our ideas together and make a BIG compare and contrast map!!!

Talofa Lava, blogging world,
In Reading this week we have been reading two different articles called, 'Up the pipe' and 'World's water running out'. Ms Sands told us to smrf a document called a compare and contrast map, which some of you guys might know. What we had to do was compare both books to see how they are different or similar. It took me about five minutes to finish because I have done this type of document before, during last year. The book that I liked reading the least is "Up the pipe" because it's about sludge. Ooohhhh! that gave me the shivers already, I shouldn't have told you that. You can't really see the writing but do not panic, I have a link that will take you to the real work. Just click on the underlined purple writing below.

BYE! BYE! and I will see you with more exciting work coming up soon!!!!!

It's already winter guys.....Maybe not a good Idea to climb Mt Everest

Talofa Lava,
It's back to reality again, more homework and also more learning. Welcome back from the 2 weeks long holiday. You might be sad because it's school but don't be school is a time to learn and have fun. In literacy this week we have been talking about winter because it's already winter. What we had to do was go to the Syndicate site and opened up a page called Inquiry. In the Inquiry page was a document that was called 'What do animals do in winter'. Also on the Inquiry page we had to choose a topic about mountains and winter. My topic that I chose was about Snow monkeys. I chose it because I was really interested in it and wanted to know about them. I had 10 questions to answer about my topic.

To get information to put onto my document I went on a link that took me to Kiwi Kids news. That's where I got more information. Some questions were hard to answer but my loving friends helped me out with the questions.
Here is a quick link to take you to the real work that I have done.

Let's get creative in writing!!!!!

Welcome back bloggers,
You might be excited because it's the last day of school!!!!.
Now this week we have been doing creative writing with one of the teachers called Mr Ross. In writing we had to pick any photo, now I am saying !ANY! photo from google. We only had a few minutes to choose a picture to write about. I have a screenshot of the picture I chose below. I wrote about lightning and I was in it just me and something that you would know when you read the story. You can't see my writing that I did but do not panic. I have a link just right below for you to click on.

See you soon and have a great holiday!!!!!!
